You Ruined Mother’s Taffy Cookies

They have been my favorite cookie since childhood and they were my grandmother’s favorite as well. They taste horrible now.

I hate the shape, color and flavor of the cookie and the filling. I’ll never buy them again.

I couldn't agree with you more. Completely different taste , texture and size .

Same with the cereals . Yuk !

The Ferrero Group and its related companies, including Ferrara USA, recently acquired cookie, pie crust, fruit-flavored snacks, and ice cream cone brands from the Kellogg Company. Please reach out to them at this number 866-866-****

I miss the old Taffy Cookie recipe.

Guest

Completely agree

Guest

My father's routine for years has been to have a cup of decaf coffee and a Mother's Taffy Cookie after dinner. We can no longer even find these on the grocery shelf and the imposter posing as taffy cookies doesn't look or taste the same.

Why did you have to change it? Very disappointed....

Guest

Please bring back the original Taffy cookie. I also stopped buying the new one.

Guest

original taffy brand was a mandatory "concession" in order for any other mother's brands to reach our shopping cart. we never even look at/for the brand in the aisle anymore. *the packaging seems invisible now- we look around it as we explore new products*

Alyxis Wja

I used to love Mother’s especially the taffy, now they are smaller and taste nothing like the Taffy Mothers had before Kellogg’s bought them out. I am done buying them. So sad this country and their garbage food Kellogg’s you should be ashamed to sell such trash

I also hate the new change in the cookie I grow up on mother's cookies but I'm done now!

Guest

What happened to my favorite cookies? Mothers changed the taffy cookies so much that I think they are nothing like the original Taffy and should change the name.

Mothers made the "cookie" part the same as their "English Tea" product.

I don't understand why they made the change to their 2nd most popular (behind the pink/white animal) and they made them unrecognizable. I hate the changes that they didn't need to make!

You've Ruined Honey Smacks

I'm not sure what you had to do to get Honey Smacks back on the shelf, but the new recipe is not going to work for those of us who have loved the cereal since we were kids. I was so excited to see Honey Smacks back on the shelf and actually paid full price for a box (instead of waiting for a sale) because I had been going through withdrawals.

I could tell by the looks of the cereal as soon as I opened the box that you had changed the recipe. Honey Smacks is now discolored and bland. I didn't even finish the first bowl. I dumped it down the drain and threw the rest of the box in the trash.

It was disgusting. Post did something to ruin Golden Crisp years ago and I haven't bought a box since. You have now ruined Honey Smacks and I won't purchase another box unless you go back to the original recipe. Post woke up and brought the original recipe back for Honey Comb when their customer base revolted.

Here's hoping Kelloggs will do the same with Honey Smacks. Bring back the original recipe!

The ‘something’ is GMO grains and high fructose corn syrup replacing cane sugar. Even when they use sugar these days it’s from GMO sugar beets.

And then they have the gall to put out TV commercials saying ‘sugar’s sugar’ to get us all on board.

Not buying it. Don’t even get me started!

Agree honey smacks and corn pops taste awful since they stopped using the silver bag to keep the cereal fresh

Guest

horrible I have to throw the entire box out, so disgusting, it's like eating pellets.

Guest

I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments expressed about the new version of Honey Smacks - it's just dreadful. It tastes like sweetened morsels of cardboard.

It's absolutely nothing like the original version. How could they screw it up that badly?

Bing Oof

Yes they totally messed up the recipe. I brought a box today hoping and praying they went back to the original recipe but they did NOT!!!

The cereal is dull, bland and not crispy.

What’s the deal with this and why is it so darn hard to make the original recipe version. I will not but another box until it’s changed back to original recipe.

Guest

totally agree....tasted it, threw it out along with the full box. awful is too kind of a word.

Same here I made the mistake of buying for boxes. After I opened the first box I thought I got a bad batch.

So I proceeded to open the other box. They were all disgusting and bland. I started to take them back to the store.

That's when I notice it. New *** disgusting recipe.

Guest

I agree with every word.

Guest

Honey Smacks are now inedible -- like beads of cardboard.

Guest

What happened to the crispness of honey smacks. Consistency now feels like the cereal was exposed to 100% humidify then boxed. I've eaten them all my 65 years but have purchased my last box.

Guest

Horrible I gave it 3 chances but just threw out my 3rd and last box since the change. Too bad as they had a good consumer base.

These new honey snacks are bad. I finished one bowl and through the rest in the trash. How could anyone put this kind of crap out for customers to buy?

The cereal tastes like popcorn. I want the old recipe back!

I was so excited when purchase it and I wanted to share it with my kids. Soo disappointed.

Good evening,

I am emailing you today to strongly urge a recall. I am hoping to save someone else the hassle.

I purchased a box of frosted mini wheats (pumpkin pie edition) that turned out to be molded. My children and I thought we had contracted a stomach bug but, it turns out we were just eating molded cereal. It was NOT apparent that it was moldy until we had gotten towards the bottom of the bag. We have had all the typical symptoms of someone who had ingested black mold plus our allergy to black mold.

I am more than happy to provide pictures of said molded food. UPC 41192 1**** and expiration date 05/03/2025 for said product.

Product issues

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Kelloggs - Product issues

Kellogg is a staple for every day Americans kitchen/consumption maybe its todays economy and every company cheating the consumer but, this is the third time Ive purchased a Kellogg item within 3 weeks and have never been so pissed. In particular, weve purchased pop tarts on serval occasions throughout our last months grocery haul as normal.

We thought the first SEVERAL times it was a fluke/the store selling them/how they were stored. After repeated purchases (various items) there is maybe a line of frosting - the inside has next to NO filling. When heating them up on lowest setting in a toaster for less than 1 minute the entire pastry burned to a crisp and the microscopic piece of frosting was black/crusted/dried up completely. Only to then still try to believe its edible, open it up its pretty much bare w no filling.

This makes no sense and never happened in over 20 years of us/family/friends consuming/prepping these products. Every company uses cheaper and crappier ingredients to maximize YOUR POCKETS. With this economy and ppl struggling as they are, youre disgusting and a disgrace to continue to crap on and provide your consumers dog *** You have the nerve to charge top dollar. Im sick of big companies, yours included, running over every person you can to make a dollar.

Its truly a disgrace. Never in my life have I complained about a basic product, actually I rarely, if ever complain, and deal with it because thats the world we live in today. But when this happens repeatedly on every product available within your company and in this economy it really starts to *** hard working ppl off. EVERY dollar of OURS count.

I could give a *** about coupons, or an were sorry, not sure what happened. Ppl arent stupid, you all know what youre doing and youre trash. Do better. Even reading this, it sounds stupid to complain about it.

Yet at the end of the day when every single company does this, especially to big cities that charge an additional sugar tax on anything that contains sugar it really *** us off. Youre out here robbing hard-working every day people. To do this for basic necessities that ppl give to their children for breakfast or a snack is honestly sad, especially when were speaking about a *** pop tart!!

But, again something as little as a pop tart is sometimes all families can afford so when you cant even do that right and you charge the maximum price while using the CHEAPEST ROUTE for ingredients you can find so you can blow through your margins and line your pockets, you are disgusting for something this basic. Im curious how much could it actually cost to make a normal product like you did 5-10 years ago?

Preferred solution: Don’t need to be “compensated” or BS apologies. I want companies to know most families cant afford to eat. when they can they shouldn’t *** food that will give us all cancer so they can make top dollar.

User's recommendation: Try to stop supporting these fraud companies and do your best with what you have to make your own things. This way you KNOW what is in your food and not being robbed for basic items. When you can’t even get a BASIC edible items and they’re robbing us blind with these prices — it’s insane I have to complain (to me rather bring awareness) about a *** pop tart, it’s ALL of our food anymore so sick of these companies!!

Make your complaints on Yelp so that more consumers can see about the bad products.

Guest

They have been lowering the quantity of product for over 40 yrs. But not the size of the box or bag.

Because people don't check the ounces. The government told them to make the box or bag closer to the quantity of the product.

They use deception. But if you pay attention to described quantity you will not be cheated.

I am writing to bring to your attention a serious issue I encountered with your Kellogg's Red Berry Cereal. Yesterday, while eating the cereal, I found it to be unusually hard, which resulted in my molar breaking.

Half of my tooth is now missing, and my dentist has diagnosed it as an enamel fracture. The necessary dental treatment to fix this issue is expected to be costly. I believe this injury was directly caused by the cereal, and I would like to request compensation to cover the medical expenses incurred.

I look forward to discussing how this matter can be resolved. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

You won't get anything, so don't waste your time. You don't have a case as you cannot prove your assumed healthy tooth broke as a result of some defect with your Kellogg's cereal. It will cost you more to hire an attorney than to get your tooth fixed.

Bidenomics wnd Kamala Harris is directly responsible for this horrible situation Thank a Democrat for decreasing product

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

So, you want to blame these companies for rising costs to make a product and their lack of income to produce said product? Well, don't!!!

You can thank the Democratic Party and their bad decisions. This is a direct impact from the horrible plan derived from Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. The Democrats will destroy what's left of our once great economy. As everything goes through the roof, companies like Kellogg have to get creative to keep manufacturing going, or they will shut down.

Democrats and Kamala Harris are ruining businesses, and they don't care as they glean taxpayer money and line their own pockets!!! Wake up, America!!!

Hahahahahahahahahahaha It’s sad that you people choose ignorance. It’s criminal when you try to force it on others.

Inflation is less than 2.9%. Stock market has reached all time highs during the Biden administration.

Trump caused the inflation with his tariffs, and mismanagement during covid. Trump did nothing in 4 years except get rich off the government by requiring the military and foreign politicians to stay at his hotels and rerouting military aircraft so they could stay at his hotels. Remember when Pence visited Ireland.

He had to drive 2 hours to his meetings because he had to stay at the closest Trump hotel, which was 2 hours away. He is the most corrupt, vile president in the history of this country.

Trump did not take a salary from the U.S. taxpayer while he was in office!

He LOST money while in office. The Obamas and Clintons left extremely wealthy and the Biden came into office extremely wealthy, due to his crooked deals with China, Russia, etc.

Guest

BS. Elect trump and you will pay way more taxes so you will actually get a pay cut if you elect him.

Unless of course you're a billionaire, then you will be fine. Idiot!

Guest

This is ridiculous. This is a corporate decision for profitability.

It has nothing to do with Biden policies. In fact, the Biden administration is working to hold companies accountable for price and product gouging practices.

Not Helpful..... The US is beyond a laughing stock the second the Orange Scrod (a foreign agent) found it easy to manipulate old, useless, and stupid people like you into anything.

On the other hand, the Follower of St George (probably your kids) have shown that they can be manipulated into doing things in the name of a worthless criminal. This country is done and about to fall. This is why the rest of the world is afraid that this nation will drag them down as if talls.

Thankfully for you, you old people will be gone by the time it happens. IF you're lucky or you will be on your own...

Trumps agenda only supports dictatorship, manipulation, false information- it’s beyond bewildering how he has so many sheep following him, denying the FACTS, documented by reliable sources. Brainwashed.

We usually buy three boxes of 60 quantity each time we go to Sams Club.

My latest batch the first box included what you see in the picture where they were paper thin and when you toasted them, they would come apart. The second and third box had holes in them., which makes it very difficult difficult when youre trying to make your every day waffle of peanut butter and jelly with a buffer waffle in the middle.

Each day I use three waffles each day..

so disappointed in my latest purchase. For a long time probably three months or so Sams Club did not carry the Eggo waffles anymore and it seems like they have gone downhill since they have started carrying them again Sams Club because of their Negotiated price be getting seconds?

I hope they return to their actual ego quality that we have known for 20+ years
